Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris

Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris is a top-down adventure that follows Lara through cursed Egyptian tombs. The goal is to stop Set, the god of evil, from enslaving humanity, and you do so by combining platforming, puzzle solving and twin-stick combat.

You face hordes of undead enemies and overcome environmental traps, with acrobatic movement and clever use of items helping you progress. The game can be played alone or in online co-op with up to three friends, which changes how some puzzles are solved.

It suits fans of the series who want a more compact, puzzle-focused take on tomb raiding. It is a premium title, and the controls are designed for touchscreens or gamepads.

Levels are viewed from above, and Lara moves with one stick while aiming with another. Tomb puzzles involve moving blocks, activating switches and using tools such as the spear to create platforms. In co-op, each player has a different character with their own equipment, which changes how obstacles are solved.

Combat is frantic but takes second place to puzzles and exploration. The Egyptian setting provides plenty of traps and hidden treasures to find. It suits fans of action-adventure games who enjoy working things out with friends, and it is a good alternative for those who prefer puzzles to heavy combat.

Things to consider: this is a paid game, so check the price on the Play Store. Touch controls can be tricky for twin-stick action, so a gamepad may feel better, and the game includes fantasy violence.
